Scientists excavating in an Armenian cave discovered a size 7 right shoe that is 5,500 years old. The New York Times reports that the shoe was found by doctoral student, Diana Zardaryan, who said “But when I took it out, I thought, ‘Oh my God, it’s a shoe.’ To find a shoe has always been my dream.” I guess that would be my dream too if I dug in caves for a living. Scientists are now trying to decipher the meaning of a strange marking they discovered on the side of the shoe. They speculate that it might be some kind of pagan symbol.
