These are photos taken in Georgina Twp, Lake Couchiching and the village of Washago on October 24 & 25, 2009. I’m especially pleased with the images from Washago. The weather had been grey and overcast, but I got up before sunrise just the same and was rewarded with a couple magic hours of light before the clouds rolled in again. I’ve never seen a pickup truck driving on rails before, but as I stood on the tracks, a CN inspector rolled up and gave me hell. He said he wasn’t worried about me getting hit by a train, since I look agile enough, but the conductors or engineers or whatever you call the people who drive trains are required to stop their train if they see someone on the tracks – even if they’re miles away. I guess stopping and starting screws up their timetable. Oh well. Live and learn. Catching hell is the price you pay for good photos.
